URI Golf Wins Battle at Rum Pointe for 2nd straight Victory
The University of Rhode Island (URI) golf team earned a victory on Sunday at the Battle at Rum Pointe in Maryland.
The win is Rhode Island’s second straight.
“I said yesterday that the toughest team would win and we proved that. After 12 holes we were up by just three shots but over the next four holes our guys made two eagles and six birdies. It was remarkable to be a part of,” said URI Head Coach Gregg Burke after the match.
The Rams finished with a team score of one-under par to beat second place Harvard by 14 shots.
The Rams were led by redshirt senior Jordan Brajcich, who was co-champion of the tournament along with Cornell’s Samuel King.
He finished the tournament four-under overall.
Vermont Amateur Champ Bryson Richards finished one shot back of Brajcich and in a tie for third place.
