O’Leary Finishes 6th, Chatfield 15th at Lamkin Grips SD Classic

Former Rhode Island Amateur champ Andrew O’Leary finished in a tie for sixth place at the Lamkin Grips SD Classic on Tuesday in San Diego.
O’Leary finished with a score of 7-under par for the tournament, by far his best showing of the spring season.
Fellow RI Amateur champ Davis Chatfield finished in a tie for 15th with a score of 4-under par.

As a team, Notre Dame finished in third place with a score of 27-under.
O’Leary’s Final Round
Starting on the first hole, O’Leary dropped a birdie putt on the second hole, before bogeying the third hole.
He remained at even par until a bogey on nine saw him turn at one-over (37).
On the back side, O’Leary birdied the 12th hole, bogeyed the 13th hole before finishing with birdies on the 14th and 16th holes to finish at one-under for the day.
Chatfield’s Final Round
Starting on the third hole, Chatfield made a bogey on the par-3, but closed with a birdie on nine to turn at even par for those seven holes.
On the back side, Chatfield birdied the 13th hole and 14th hole, before bogeying the 18th.
Two pars on the first and second hole would give him 71 for the day.
