Number of Female Golfers Increases by 600K Since 2019

The demand for golf in general has skyrocketed over the last few years, but the demand of women to want to play golf has also seen a dramatic increase.
According to the National Golf Foundation, the number of female golfers has increased by 600,000 from 2019 to 2021.
“Over the past two years, the number of female golfers has increased by over 600,000. One of golf’s strongest growth cohorts during the pandemic, the female, on-course participant base topped 6M in 2020 and 2021,” writes the National Golf Foundation.

In Rhode Island, there are plenty of ways for women to get involved in the game.
There are two organizations dedicated to women’s golf, the Ocean State Women’s Golf Association (OSWGA) and the LPGA Amateur Golf Association – RI Chapter.
These two organizations holds events, tournaments for women of all skill levels.
Also, most clubs across the state have women’s programs.
