URI Golf Picked to Finish 4th in A-10 Preseason Poll

The University of Rhode Island men’s golf team has been picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll released by the conference.
The Rams will look to build off a fall season where they claimed one team title and had three other top-5 finishes.
Individually, Rhody is led by the veteran trio of Jordan Brajcich, Brandon Gillis and Bryson Richards.

Together, the three golfers had seven top-10 performances in the fall.
Richards led the group in scoring, combining to finish 3-under par through five tournaments.
The Poll
Davidson – which received 10 of a possible 11 first-place votes – was identified as the preseason favorite with 120 total points.
Davidson won last year’s championship and returns four of the five members from that championship team, including All-Conference performers, Brian Garrett and Viraj Garewell.
VCU received the remaining first-place votes to lock in the #2 spot in the preseason poll with 108 points overall.
Richmond (89 points), Rhode Island (84 points) and Dayton (80 points) rounded out the top-5.
