Vinny Papa Tied 22nd After Round 1 of Rockettour Players Championship
Rhode Island’s Vinny Papa is in a tie for 22nd after the first round of the Rockettour Players Championship at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
Papa posted a 13-over par 85 in the first round and sits tied with two other players.
North Carolina’s Elizabeth Rudisill leads the tournament at one-over.
The final round of the tournament is on Sunday.
Papa’s Round
Papa opened the round with back-to-back bogeys on the first two holes.
After a par on the third hole, she bogeyed the fourth and fifths holes to move to four-over for the day.
Papa closed the front nine with a bogey on the seventh hole, a double on the eighth hole and a triple on the ninth hole to turn at 45.
On the back side, Papa dropped a birdie putt on the par-5 12th hole before bogeying the 13th and 14th.
She closed the round with bogeys on 16 and 17 to shoot 85.
