Bobby Leopold Finishes 2nd at Gasparilla Invitational
Defending Rhode Island Amateur champion Bobby Leopold finished in a tie for second place this week at the Gasparilla Invitational down in Florida.
Leopold posted a three round score of 205 to finish five shots back of the winner, Logan Blondell.
After a first round 71, Leopold rallied with back-to-back rounds of 67 to climb the leaderboard and get within striking distance of the lead.
Leopold’s Final Round
Starting the day in a tie for 12th, Leopold made six straight pars to open the final round.
The four-time RI Amateur champ dropped birdies on seven and eight to turn at 33.
On the back side, Leopold birdied the 11th hole, but then bogeyed the 12th hole.
After four pars, he made birdie at the par-3 17th hole and made par on 18 to shoot 67.
