Quigley in 8th After Round 1 of Mitsubishi Electric Championship
Rhode Island’s Brett Quigley is in a tie for 8th place after the first round of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship on Thursday afternoon in Hawaii.
Quigley fired a 5-under par 67 in the round one and is tied with several other players, including Jim Furyk and Bernhard Langer.
Ernie Els leads the tournament at 8-under par.
Quigley’s 1st Round
Quigley got off to a near dream start.
He birdied the second, fourth and seventh holes to turn at three-under for the tournament and round.
Things got better, at least for awhile, on the back nine with Quigley birding four of his first six holes to get to seven under.
However, Quigley closed the round with bogeys on the 16th and 17th, before closing with a par on 18.
