Paik Tied 43rd, Florio 52nd at South Atlantic Women’s Amateur
Rhode Island’s Allison Paik sits in a tie for 43rd while fellow Rhode Islander Alexis Florio is in a tie for 52nd after round one of the South Atlantic Women’s Amateur at Oceanside Country Club in Florida.
Paik posted a first round 78 (6-over), while Florio is one shot behind at 79 (7-over).
Round two of the tournament gets underway on Thursday morning.
Paik’s First Round
After making par on the first two holes, Paik doubled the third hole, before bouncing back with a birdie on the fourth hole.
The Columbia freshman made three more pars before closing the front nine with a bogey, and double-bogey to turn at 40.
On the back nine, Paik parred ten, but then went bogey, bogey birdie on the next three holes.
She bogeyed 15 to shoot 78.
Florio’s First Round
Florio did not get off to the greatest of starts.
She made back-to-back double bogeys to start the round, before making a birdie at the sixth hole.
The Cranston native bogeyed the eighth hole to turn at 40.
On the back nine, Florio bogeyed the tenth hole, the bogeyed 13 and double 14.
She did bounce back with a birdie at 15 to shoot 79.
