Mickelson to Play in Tournament of Champions
For the first time in 21 years, Phil Mickelson will be playing in the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.
Mickelson hasn’t played in the tournament since January of 2001, despite winning on the PGA Tour every year except 2003.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Phil Mickelson back to Kapalua, as his return adds additional star power to an incredibly deep and talented field,” said Alex Urban, the event’s executive director in a statement to Golf Channel.
Mickelson won the tournament when it was played in California in 1994 and in 1998.
Now, Mickelson will be looking for his 46th career victory on the PGA Tour.
