4 Rhode Islanders Make Cut at Doral
Four Rhode Island High School golf stars have made the cut at the First Tee Miami Doral Jr. Classic at the Blue Monster Course in Miami this week.
The four players include Kylie Eaton on the girls side and Brady Williams, Rocco Biafore and Max Jackson on the boys side of the tournament.
The final round for both divisions is Thursday.
Through two rounds, the Moses Brown star is 18-over for the tournament and in a tie for 27th.
She started the second round as high as seventh place, but an 83 sent her backwards.
Eaton is just four shots out of a top 20 finish.
Hendricken star Brady Williams sits in a tie for 30th after round two, making the cut pretty easily.
Williams has posted back-to-back 78s to be 12-over for the tournament.
On Wednesday, he was helped by this eagle putt on the 8th hole at Doral (his 17th hole of the day), to seal the made cut.
Just three shots back of Brady Williams is Wakefield’s Rocco Biafore.
Biafore posted an 80 in the first round and then a 79 on Wednesday to make the cut by a few shots.
He is currently 15-over and in a tie for 42.
Tied with Biafore is La Salle star Max Jackson.
After a first round 80, Jackson bounced back with a second round 78 to make the cut with a two round score of 15-over 159.
Jackson entered the second round just inside the cut line, so he got a big round when he really needed it.
