Northeast Amateur to be Part of Elite Amateur Golf Series

The Northeast Amateur will be part of a seven tournament series called the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
The other six tournaments that are part of the series include the Southern Amateur, Sunnehanna Amateur, North and South Amateur, Trans-MIss Amateur, Pacific Coast Amateur and Western Amateur.
“Our mission is to enhance amateur golf by aligning the top competitive amateur championships and providing exceptional playing opportunities for the best amateur golfers to compete at the highest level,” writes the Elite Amateur Golf Series on their website.

Starting in 2002, the top five players in the series will receive exemptions into the 2022 U.S. Amateur and 2023 U.S. Open final qualifying. There will also be four tour exemptions including the PGA Tour’s Bermuda Championship, Korn Ferry Tour’s NV5 Invitational, Lake Charles Championship, Memorial Health Championship and another event which is to be determined.
Along with the individual tournaments, there will be an overall Elite Amateur Cup.
The cup will feature a points race determined by using the players World Amateur Golf Ranking points earned in the seven events.
Players must play in at least three tournament to be eligible.
The 2022 Northeast Amateur will be held from June 22 to June 25 at the newly renovated Wannamoisett Country Club.
