RIGA Cancels Year-End Awards Banquet
The Rhode Island Golf Association has canceled its annual year-end Awards and Recognition Banquet due to Covid-19 related reasons.
This is the second straight year in which the banquet has been canceled.
“It was a tough decision to have to cancel our year-end banquet for the second straight year. It is a great way for us to show appreciation to the people who help our association succeed on a yearly basis. While it is disappointing, our hope is to be able to have it return in 2022 with a Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,” said RIGA Executive Director Bob Ward in a press release.
According to RIGA, a slideshow honoring the 2021 champions will be made available in December.
RIGA’s annual meeting will carry on as scheduled.
