McIlroy Rips Shirt After Final Round 74 Costs Him DP World Tour Championship
Rory McIlroy took his frustration out on his dark blue Nike shirt on Sunday morning after posting a final round 74 to lose the DP World Tour Championship to Collin Morikawa.
McIlroy ripped the shirt.
To be fair, McIlroy’s 74 came with one terrible break.
Co-leading on the 15th hole, McIlroy’s chip shot from 36-yards out hit the flag stick and rolled into a bunker.
He ended up making bogey on the hole to fall one shot back of Morikawa.
With frustration probably rising, McIlroy three-putted the 16th green for another bogey, while Morikawa birdied 17 and 18 to win by three shots.
Along with winning the DP World Tour, Morikawa becomes the first American to win the European Tour’s Race to Dubai title.
