MA’s Peter Uihlein Gets Sponsor Exemption into PGA Tour’s Houston Open
New Bedford native Peter Uihlein will be back on the PGA Tour this week after receiving a sponsor’s exemption into the Houston Open.
Around the New England region, Uihlein is mostly remembered for winning the 2011 Northeast Amateur with a record score of 15-under par.
His score was matched by Justin Suh in 2018, but no-one has passed it.
Uihlein on Tour
So far this season on the PGA Tour, Uihlein finished in a tie for 34th at the Bermuda Championship and a tie for 47th at the Fortinet Championship.
His best career finish came last year when he teamed with Richie Werenski to finish third at the Zurich Classic.
Uihlein is still seeking his first career PGA Tour victory.
