Welch’s Round

Welch opened the round with two bogeys in the first four holes to fall to two-over right off the bat.

He closed the front nine with a bogey on the ninth hole to make the turn in three-over (38).

On the back side, Welch bogeyed the 15th hole and doubled the 16th hole to shoot 76.

As GolfNewsRI reported, Welch is ranked 29th in the PGA Tour University rankings entering this week. He will need a strong finish to avoid potentially dropping.
