URI Takes Commanding Lead Into Final Round of UConn Invitational 

The University of Rhode Island Golf team is taking a commanding lead into Tuesday’s final round of the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse. 

The Rams have a team score of one-under par (293) for the tournament and lead second place Lafayette College and Connecticut by 14 shots heading into the final round. 

Rhody was five-over in the second round to go from six-under to one-under.

URI tees off at 10:10 a.m Tuesday. 

Iona is in sixth place, however, Colin Sutyala is not playing in the tournament. 

Bryant University is in 13th.

Leading URI 

After Andrew DiPetrillo got the Rams off to a good start in round one, Bryson Richards carried the torch in round two. 

Richards fired a three-under 69 in the second round to help keep the Rams under par. 

He is tied for third overall. 

Richards was followed by Jordan Brajcich and Jack Tegan, both of whom carded rounds of 74. 

Brandon Gillis posted a second round 76 and is in 24th.
