Francoeur, Louisville Tied 8th After Day 1 of Tucker Intercollegiate

Chris Francoeur and his Louisville Cardinals are both tied for 8th place after day one of the Tucker Intercollegiate in New Mexico.
Through 36 holes, Francoeur is three-under par for the tournament, while Louisville, as a team, is ten-over par for the tournament.

The final round of the tournament takes place on Saturday.
Francoeur’s 1st Round
Starting on the third hole (it was a shotgun start), Francouer made birdie to get to one-under par before doubling the eighth hole and birding the ninth.
On the back side, Francoeur birdied the 14th hole, bogeyed 17 and birdied the 18th hole to post 35 on the back side.
On the final two holes, Francoeur saved par to shoot 71.
Francoeur’s 2nd Round
In the second 18, again starting on the third hole, Francoeur made back-to-back bogeys on the fourth and fifth holes, before getting one back on the ninth hole with a birdie.
Making the turn, the former URI star made bogey on the tenth hole and saved par on holes 11-16.
The final four holes is where Francoeur got hot.
He birdied 17 and 18, and then eagled the first hole to play the final four holes in four-under par and shoot up the leaderboard.
In the second 18, Francoeur fired a 70.
