Crestwood’s Jordan Amorin Wins RI Mid-Amateur

Crestwood Country Club’s Jordan Amorin rallied from three-shots back to win the Rhode Island Mid-Amateur on Tuesday afternoon at Ledgemont Country Club. 

Amorin posted a 70 in the final round to win the title by one shot over Connecticut National’s Nick Hedden.

Kevin Blaser finished third at one-under and Mike Hamilton finished fourth at even par. 

Crestwood’s Kolby Simmons rounded out the top five at one-over par.

Amorin’s Final Round

Trailing by a couple of shots to start the day, Amorin opened with a birdie on the first hole before giving it back on the fourth hole. 

He would make the turn at even par. 

Amorin would birdie ten and bogey 13 to remain at even par, before making a birdie on the par-4 14th. 

Meanwhile, Hedden made four bogeys on the back nine to come back to the pack and eventually lose the tournament. 

Amorin parred out the rest of the way, including a scramble par on 18 to win the tournament.
