Overall, the Sooners posted a team score of 17-under par to finish one shot behind rival Oklahoma State.

“It’s so good for us to be back in the mix today coming down the stretch. We started a bit slow as a squad, but really did a phenomenal job on the tough holes and our finish was very good. I’m so proud of our two freshmen, Drew Goodman and Stephen Campbell Jr., and how they performed this week,” said Head Coach Ryan Hybl after the round.

Oklahoma’s Logan McAllister won the tournament outright in a playoff.

Welch’s Final Round

Welch’s front nine was quite the rollercoaster ride.

He opened with a birdie on the second hole, then bogeyed the third.

Another bogey on the fifth hole was followed by a birdie on the sixth hole, before the pattern repeated on the eighth and ninth holes.

The former Classical star made the turn at even par.

On the back side, Welch birdied 10, bogeyed 12 and birdied 15 to get to one under on the day before parring out.
