O’Leary Edges Chatfield to Win Notre Dame Team Qualifier

Andrew O’Leary edged Davis Chatfield by one shot to win the Notre Dame team qualifying event at Lost Dunes on Tuesday. 

O’Leary posted a four-round score of 11-under par (271) to beat Chatfield and Taichi Kho by one shot in the tournament.

Notre Dame golf begins their season on September 5 at the Marquette Invitational. 

O’Leary Wins Team Qualifier 

The 2019 RI Amateur champ opened the tournament by shooting a 69 in the first round to find himself one shot off the lead held by Angelo Marcon. 

O’Leary posted a 70 in the second round to remain in second place in the tournament, this time behind Chatfield, who shot a second-round 68. 

The third round was all about Taichi Kho, who posted a tournament low 63 to take the lead over O’Leary and Chatfield by several shots, despite the two Rhode Islanders shooting 67 and 69 respectively. 

In the final round, Kho posted a 70, while O’Leary and Chatfield fired a pair of 65s, with O’Leary going on to win the tournament.
