Nordqvist Wins Women’s British Open
Anna Nordqvist claimed the third major of her career on Sunday, winning the Women’s British Open at Carnoustie.
Nordqvist fired a four round score of 12-under par to win the tournament by one shot over three players who finished at 11-under.
While this is her third major, it is her first major since 2017 as she has struggled with her game over the last few years.
“I’ve been waiting on this one for a while. I haven’t won in a couple of years. There’s been a lot of downs, a lot of hard times. So I think this makes it feel even sweeter,” said Nordqvist after the round.

The top American finisher was Lizzette Salas who finished in that second place tie at 11-under.
World number one Nelly Korda finished in a tie for 13th.
How it Happened
After posting a bogey-free 65 in the third round, Nordqvist found herself tied fo the lead with Nanna Koerstz Madsen at 12-under on the final hole.
Both players put their tee shots in the fairway, but Madsen put her second shot in the large bunker on the right side of the green.
Show some veteran poise, Nordqvist put her seconds shot on the green, a little ways from the hole, but on the green nonetheless.
Madsen skulled her bunker shot into the heavy stuff behind the green and was unable to chip in to save par, pretty much giving Nordqvist the tournament.
Nordqvist two-putted for the victory.
