Gary Player’s Wife Vivienne Passes Away
Gary Player’s wife Vivienne has passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Her death was announced on Wednesday.
“Everyone at The R&A sends their deepest condolences to Gary Player and his family, following the sad news of Vivienne’s Passing,” writes the R&A in a statement.

“Waking up to some sad news with the passing of Mrs. Player. In many ways she has always been the rock in the Player family and she will surely be missed. May God Almighty bless you and the family during this time of mourning,” wrote CBS Golf’s Mark Immelman in a tweet.
Gary and Vivienne were married for 64 years and have six children, as well as, 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Gary and Vivienne have raised more than $62 million for underprivileged children’s education across the globe thanks to charitable efforts like The Player Foundation.
This past January was Gary and Vivienne’s 64th wedding anniversary.
