Quarterfinal Matches Set at RI Junior Amateur
The quarterfinal matches for the Rhode Island Junior Amateur being held at Rhode Island Country Club are set.
The matches begin at 7:08 a.m. on Wednesday morning and pretty much alternate between the boys matches and girls matches.
Boys Bracket
On the boys side, the top two seeds, Bennett Masterson and Harry Dessel, both advanced with Dessel winning his first round match relatively easily.
La Salle phenom Max Jackson advanced on the last hole and will face former Hendricken star Ricky Angeli.
Jackson held off Angeli to win the High School Golf State Championship a few months ago.
The final match features two Wannamoisett members, Spencer Dumas and Cole Vieira.
Girls Bracket:
The girls side of the bracket features two pairs of sisters, Vinny and Gianna papa, and Kylie and Adrianna Eaton.
Top-seeded Vinny Papa is back in action after getting a first round bye.
She will face Wannamoisett’s Morgan Macleod in the quarterfinals.
Gianna papa will battle Kylie Eaton in the quarterfinals, a rematch of last year’s RI Women’s Amateur semi-finals in which Gianna won.
Adrianna Eaton will face Wannamoisett’s Ayong Lee in the second girls match of the day, while Olivia Williams will battle Lily Dessel.
Lily Dessel is the sister of Harry Dessel.
