Nelly Korda Wins Women’s Golf Gold Medal
It is safe to say that women’s professional golf in America has a new face – and it’s Nelly Korda.
Just a short month or so after winning her first major, Korda won the women’s Olympic golf gold medal on Friday night at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Tokyo, Japan.

Korda shot a four round score of 17-under par to edge Mone Inami and Lydia Ko by one shot.
Earlier this season, Korda reached number one in the world and has shown no signs of giving it up.
She is the first American women’s golfer to reach number one in the world in seven years.
Korda’s gold medal comes a week after Xander Schauffele won the men’s gold medal on the same course, giving the U.S. an Olympic sweep.
Inami won silver and Ko took home the bronze.
