Gianna Papa Finishes 6th, Jackson 7th at Northern Junior Championship
Rhode Island rising golf stars Gianna Papa finished in a tie for sixth place and Max Jackson finished seventh at the Northern Junior Championship this week at New Haven Country Club in Connecticut.
Papa fired a two round score of 149 to finish sixth in the girls division, while Jackson shot a two round score of 142 to finish seventh in the boys division.

Connecticut’s Ben James won the boys division with a score of six-under, while Florida’s Jieming Yang took home the trophy in the girls division with a score of six-over.
Papa’s 2nd Round
Starting the day just one shot off the lead, Papa played the first four holes in one over par.
The Pinecrest member would get it back on the fifth hole with a birdie, but things became rocky from there.
Papa would bogey three of her next four holes to shoot 37 on the front nine.

Making the turn, Papa would birdie the tenth hole, before making bogey on 12 and a crushing double bogey on 14.
She would make a birdie and two bogeys over the next four holes to post 76.
Jackson’s 2nd Round
The La Salle phenom opened his second round with two bogeys on the front nine to shoot a two over par 36.
Jackson would erase both of those blemishes with birdies on 10 and 11, before a bogey on 13 moved him to one over for the day.
Jackson would par out the rest of the way to shoot 71.
