Papa Misses Cut at Girls Junior PGA Championship
Vinny Papa played better in round two of the Girls Junior PGA Championship, but it was not enough to make the cut.
After posting an 81 in the first round, Papa posted 78 in the second round and climbed up 13 spots on the leaderboard in round two.
She missed the 36-hole cut by four shots as it ended up being 9-over, Papa finished at 13-over.
At 12-years-old, Papa was the only Rhode Islander in the field.
Papa’s 2nd Round
The Pinecrest member’s second round got off to a better start.
She made bogey on the second hole, but poured in a birdie on the sixth hole to make the turn at even par for the day.
After saving par on 10 and 11, Papa bogeyed 12 and then finished the round with a string of bogeys on holes 15-18 to shoot 78.
