Rough 2nd Round Drops Andrade to 4th at U.S. Senior Open
As good as the first round was for Rhode Island’s Billy Andrade, the second round was just as rough at the U.S. Senior Open.
Entering the round with lead, Andrade finished five-over for the day and even for the tournament, dropping him to a tie for fourth.
Tee times for the third round have been moved up due to inclement weather, according to the USGA.
Andrade’s 2nd Round
After saving par on the first two holes, Andrade went bogey, bogey, birdie, birdie, bogey and bogey to make the turn at two over par.
Another bogey on the 11th hole moved him to three over, before a costly double bogey on the par-5 16th hole moved him to five over for the day.
Andrade would birdie the 17th hole, but give it right back on 18 to finish five over.
Quigley Misses Cut
While Andrade is still in contention, RI’s Brett Quigley missed the cut at the U.S. Senior Open.
Quigley posted two rounds of 72 and 77 to finish nine-over for the tournament.
The cut was seven-over.
