URI Golf’s Bryson Richards Wins Vermont Amateur
University of Rhode Island rising junior Bryson Richards won the Vermont Amateur on Thursday.
Richards posted a four round total of 280 (four-under par) to win the tournament in a blowout.
His next closest competitor was four-over.
“This is an even that I’ve wanted to win for a long time, and to be able to finally get it done this week means a lot,” Richards said after the round.

Richards posted a first round 73, which put him in the middle of the pack.
However, over the next two rounds, Richards separated himself by shooting a 68 and 67 respectively to build a big lead heading into the final round.
Richards closed with a 72 on Thursday to take home the trophy.
