Papa Sisters in Final Group at NEPGA Jr. Championship
In a unique, and really cool scenario, Vinny and Gianna Papa are paired together in the last group for Wednesday’s final round of the NEPGA Jr. Championship.
Vinny leads the tournament at one-over par, while Gianna is in third at six-over par.
Westwood, Massachusetts’ Lillian Guleserian is the third player in the group.
They tee off at 9:40 a.m. at Shaker Hills Country Club.
The winner goes to famed Valhalla in Kentucky in July for the PGA Jr. Major.
Vinny Papa’s Round
Papa opened the first round with a birdie on the third hole to get to one-under par for the tournament.
However, three bogeys on the next four holes moved her back to two over for the tournament.
On the back nine, Papa bogeyed 13 and 16, before having a dream finish.
Vinny birdied the 17th hole and then eagled the par-5 18th hole to finish one-over for the tournament and grab the overnight lead.
Gianna Papa’s Round
Like Vinny, Gianna also opened up the round at one-under par after a birdie on the first hole.
After six straight pars, Papa bogeyed the 8th and ninth holes to finish the front nine at one over.
However, the back nine was not so kind.
Gianna parred the first two holes, but then made bogeys on 12, 13, 14, and 15.
She bogeyed the 17 and parred 18 to finish the day at six over.
