Northeast Amateur Local 9 LIVE Blog – Round 3

The third round of the Northeast Amateur at Wannamoisett Country Club is about to get underway. 

Here is GolfNewsRI’s Local 9 LIVE blog for the third round. 

The cut is top 60 and ties.

The Local 9 

7:30 a.m. – Mike Hamilton

Mike Hamilton is one over on the day and 32-over for the tournament. He was the first tee time Friday morning.

He begins the back nine.

The defending RI Stroke Play Champ made a birdie on nine, but then gave it back with a bogey on 11.

He finishes 36-over.


7:46 a.m. – Billy Forcier

Forcier is four over in the third round. He doubled the famous par 3 third hole to get to that number.

Still four over, he has saved par on the last four holes.

Forcier finishes 24 over.

7:54 a.m. – Patrick Welch

Welch is six over on the day, including a double bogey on the ninth hole.

Welch finishes 20- over in his return to Rhode Island.


8:02 a.m. – Bobby Leopold

Through six holes, Leopold is two over on the day and +11 for the tournament. Will need to make some magic happen on the back nine if he wants to make the cut.

Leopold finishes 11-over for the tournament.


8:42 a.m. – Chris Roloff

Having just teed off a short time ago, Roloff is one over through three holes. Eight over for the tournament.

Right now (10 a.m.), the cut is 5-over, there is a chance it moves up to 6 or 7 over by the end of the day.

Roloff is five over on the day, 12 over for tournament.

Roloff finishes 11-over for tournament after dropping a birdie on 18.


9:54 a.m. – Andrew O’Leary

O’Leary had the round of the day so far.

He finished four under for the day, well inside the cut line.

O’Leary notched his second career hole in one. Came on the 8th hole with a six iron.

O’Leary just missed a birdie putt on 18 to go to five under.


10:10 a.m. – Jamie Lukowicz

Jamie Lukowicz

Lukowicz is six over for tournament, just inside cut line.

He is one over so far today.


11:22 a.m. – Chris Francoeur

Francoeur is one over on the day, four over for the tournament.

Francoeur is in the clubhouse at four-over for the tournament.

He was hurt by a bad three-putt on the 18th hole, however, he will make the cut.


1:38 p.m. – Davis Chatfield

Chatfield is even through two. Huge par save on the second hole.

Through ten holes, Chatfield is three-under for the tournament and just two shots off the lead of Dylan Menante.

Chatfield had it up to four under through 11 holes. He makes bogey on 12 to fall back to three.

There are some scores being shot out there for sure today. Conditions are a bit soft.
