RI’s Jack Marques Wins Drive, Chip & Putt Qualifier at Button Hole
Rhode Island’s Jack Marques won his division at the Drive, Chip, and Putt qualifier on Button Hole on Saturday afternoon.
Marques competed in the 14-15-year-old division.
“Congratulations to Jack Marques 2021- 14-15 year old divisional champion of the Drive , Chip , and Putt Qualifier at the Button Hole Golf Club, and all the divisional qualifiers- They are one step closer to Augusta National….It was a wonderful day , with so many talented golfers from our region -I would like to thank the Button Hole staff, NEPGA staff, and all the volunteers (Coach Morgan , Coach Teresa, Coach Feinstein!!) for running a top notch event – The junior golfers had a great time,” writes Button Hole Head Pro Shane Drury.
Tyson Laviano and Nicholas Emery also qualified at Button Hole.
All three players will now advance to LeBaron Hills in Massachusetts for the Sub-Regional Qualifier and then TPC River Highlands for the Regional Qualifier.
Marques will now advance to the regional qualifier and if he gets through that, it is off to Augusta National.
Marques advanced to regional qualifier back in 2015 in the 7-9 year-old-division.
