Nine Players Make Cut at Mass Amateur Qualifying
Nine players made the cut at the first Massachusetts Amateur qualifying event on Thursday afternoon at Brookline Golf Club.
Plymouth Country Club’s Nicholas Carter took medalist honors, posting a one-under par 69.
He was the only player to shoot under par on the day.

Just one player shot an even par-70 score. That was Sean McReynolds (Braintree Municipal Golf Course), who tallied three birdies during his round, but still ended up shooting even. In total, nine players made the cut to punch their ticket to Brae Burn.
Daniel Cappuci (Boston Golf Club) and Aengus McAllister (The Country Club) tied for third place, both shooing 1-over-par-71 for their round. McAllister had a nice stretch of play on Holes 11 and 12, picking up back-to-back birdies to help secure his spot above the cut line.
The next two qualifying events for the Mass Amateur will be on Monday, June 7 at Wilbraham Country Club in and Tedesco Country Club.
The Mass Amateur will be held from July 12-16 at Brae Burn Country Club
