Chatfield, Jackson Win in 21-Hole Thriller, Advance to U.S. Four Ball Semi-Finals
Davis Chatfield and Palmer Jackson edged Luke Potter and Preston Summerhays in a 21-hole thriller to advance to the U.S. Four-Ball semi-finals on Tuesday evening at Chambers Bay in Washington.
The Notre Dame stars will face Kiko Francisco Coelho and Leopoldo Herrera III in the semi-final Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. eastern time.
Thriller at Chambers Bay
Similar to Chatfield and Jackson’s first match of the tournament, in this one, they were battling from behind most of the round.
Potter and Summerhays were two up through the first the first seven holes, before Chatfield and Jackson won the tenth and 11th holes to tie the match.
Potter and Summerhays went right back up on the next hole, but again, the Notre Dame stars tied the match two holes later.
The two sides would match pars for the next six holes, before Chatfield and Jackson made birdie on the 21st hole to end the match.
The match ended at about 11:30 p.m. eastern time on Tuesday night.
