McCormick, McCann Take Honors at Kirkbrae’s Memorial Tournament
Former RI Amateur Champion Tom McCormick fired a three-under 69 to win Kirkbrae’s Memorial Tournament (Gross) on Saturday morning by one shot over Jon McCann.
McCormick will be among the favorites heading into this year’s RI Amateur, which is at Kirkbrae.
Fellow Kirkbrae member and RI Amateur favorite Mike Hamilton finished at even par, along with John Auclair, Patrick Healey and Alan Lao.
All of those players will be expecting to qualify for the Amateur this year.
The first qualifying event is Monday in Swansea.
McCann took home net honors with a score of four-under par to beat Ethan Cloutier by one shot.

The Memorial Tournament is part for Kirkbrae’s Ryder Cup Qualifying series for September’s matches against Alpine.
