Chatfield, Jackson Tied 58th After Round 1 of U.S. Amateur Four-Ball

Notre Dame star and Wannamoisett member Davis Chatfield and his Notre Dame teammate Palmer Jackson are tied for 58th after round one of the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball at Chambers Bay in Washington. 

The duo posted a bogey-free three-under 68 in the first round to finish in 58th.

The top 32 teams after today’s second round advance to match play on Monday. 

The teams of Scott Harvey/Todd Mitchell and Brent Ito/Patrick Sullivan are tied for first at 11-under.

Chatfield/Jackson First Round

The Notre Dame stars got off to a great start by birding two of the first three holes to get to two under. 

However, they were not a able to get another birdie to drop for the rest of the front nine and made the turn at two-under. 

When they made the turn, they parred ten and 11 before birding to the 12th hole to get to three-under. 

The two parred in the rest of the way to finish at three-under for the tournament. 

They will need a low round on Sunday to make the cut.
