Mickelson Magic? Phil Holds Share of Lead at PGA Championship
In a bit of a stunner, Phil Mickelson is taking a share of the lead into the weekend at the PGA Championship.
Mickelson is five-under par for the tournament and tied with Louis Oosthuizen for the lead.
“I’m having a lot of fun, and to play well, to know I’m playing well heading into the weekend, to be in contention, to have a good opportunity, I’m having a blast. I’m excited for the weekend. This has been a lot of fun,” said Mickelson after his round on Friday.

After being mostly a non-factor on the PGA Tour for much of the last two years or so, Mickelson is having a bit of a resurgence as of late.
Two weeks ago at the Wells Fargo, he held the lead by himself after the first round before fading over the weekend.
Now, at 50, he is back in the lead, this time on the weekend in a major.
“Physically I feel like I’m able to perform and hit the shots that I’ve hit throughout my career, and I feel like I can do it every bit as well as I have, but I’ve got to have that clear picture and focus,” said Mickelson.
Will this be Phil’s “Tiger 2019 moment,” only the next two days will tell.
However, one thing is for sure, either way, the entire golf world is gripped.
