Cristie Kerr Receives Special Exemption into U.S. Women’s Open
Despite being ranked 100th in the world, LPGA Tour star Cristie Kerr has received a special exemption into the U.S. Women’s Open.
“Winning the U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles [in 2007] was a career- and life-changing moment. I’m grateful to everyone at the USGA for this special exemption and the opportunity to continue to play in what I consider our sport’s greatest championship. I can’t wait to arrive at The Olympic Club and tee it up in my 26th U.S. Women’s Open,” said Kerr in a statement.

The U.S. Women’s Open will be held June 3-6 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.
Kerr’s Career
Over the course of her career, Kerr has 20 wins and two major championships.
She has eight top-10 finishes in the Women’s Open, most recently in 2016.
Her last LPGA Tour victory came in 2017, when she won twice.
This season, Kerr has struggled.
She missed the cut in each of her last two starts and her best finish is a tie for 28th.
