RI Contingent Misses Cut at U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier
The four Rhode Island women that competed for a shot to make the U.S. Women’s Open fell short on Wednesday afternoon at Dedham Country and Polo Club.
Former Classical star Allison Paik and Warwick’s Susie Cavanagh led the Rhode Island contingent with scores of 15-over par for the tournament.
Paik shot 76, 79, while Cavanagh posted 82 in the first round and bounced back with a 73 in the second.
Cranston’s Alexis Florio finished 22-over par with a pair of 81s on the day.
Newport’s Addy Douglas withdrew.
Who Qualified
The two players who made the cut were former LPGA Professional Christina Kim and Canada’s Noemie Pare.
Both were three-under over the course of 36 holes.
The two alternates are Germany’s Sophie Hausmann and Isi Gabsa.
