Rickie Fowler Gets Special Invite to 2021 PGA Championship
Rickie Fowler has received a special invite to the 2021 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course.
According to the PGA of America, Fowler, along with John Carlin, were granted invites “based on their performances, playing records and World Golf Ranking Position.”
To be fair, the PGA of America usually awards 30-40 exemptions every year.
The tournament begins on May 20.
Collin Morikawa is the defending champion.
Fowler’s Struggles
One of the biggest storylines of this PGA Tour season has been the struggles of Fowler.
Fowler is currently ranked 111th in the world and not playing this week.
He does not have a top ten finish this season, and did not make it to the Masters field.
