RI Teams Come up Short at U.S. Four-Ball Qualifying
The five Rhode Island teams competing for spots in the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball on Tuesday came up just short at Connecticut National.
The RI contingent saw Mike Hamilton and Tom McCormick, Jason Kalin and Richard Audette and Kyle Hoffman and Peter O’Neill all finish at two-under par.
Matt Costaregni and McKinley Slade finished at one-under par for the tournament.
The only other Rhode Island team was Chris Chartier and Michael O’Malley, who finished over par.
The cut was five-under.
Making the Cut
Despite no Rhode Islanders making the cut, there is a handful of players from Massachusetts who are set to make it.
Four teams finished at five-under, meaning there will likely be a playoff for the final spot.
Among those teams is MA’s Kevin Gately and Sam Jenkins, Keith Orlen and Victor Galvani and Kolby Simmons and Vermont’s Ryan Porter.
The U.S. Amateur Four-Ball all take place May 22-26 at Chambers Bay in Washington.
