It is that time of year again, time for the Best of Rhode Island Awards.
Vote GolfNewsRI as the best Local News Blog and vote the Golf Dudes Podcast as the best Podcast.
All votes must be written in by April 30.
About GolfNewsRI
After launching on April 13, 2020, GolfNewsRI has done nearly 100,000 page views and have reached thousands of people through our social media channels.
We currently have over 633 followers on Facebook and about 567 likes. We are continuing to build our Instagram and Twitter audience which is at 123 and 57 respectively.
Over the next few months we are so excited to work with Boston sports writer Peter May on the local marketing and promotion of his book “The Open Question,” about golf legend Ben Hogan and the 1942 U.S. Open that wasn’t. It is no small deal that he chose us to help him out.
Along with reporting big stories like the demolition of the Metacomet Clubhouse and local pros changing locations, GolfNewsRI has also brought local golf course news to the forefront.
In 2020, we posted results for every club championship in the state, as well as, general course news for every club in the state, both private and public. We plan to do all that and more again in 2021.
GolfNewsRI has had contributions from some of the top pros in the state, including Kirkbrae’s Mike Bradshaw, Kings Crossing’s Peter Walsh, Rick Holcomb and the New England PGA.
Along with the website, GolfNewsRI launched the Golf Dudes Podcast.
The Podcast has featured guests such as Billy Andrade, Armen Keteyian of 60 Minutes, local golf stars Mike Hamilton (RI stroke play champ) and Allison Paik (Mass Am champ) and many more to come.
The Golf Dudes airs once a week to a live audience on Facebook LIVE and does about 100 live views per show, plus many more in replays. We do the show through our media partnership with Coalition Talk Radio.
