The Masters Has Lowest TV Viewership Since 1993

The 2021 Masters Tournament had its lowest TV viewership in 28 years, according to Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal.

Karp reports that CBS averaged 9.45 million viewers for the final round of the Masters. That number was up 68% from the November Masters, which proved to be a complete debacle.

However, it is still the lowest spring Masters since 1993.

“Good luck these days finding a single telecast like this (that isnt played on a football field) that averages close to 10 million U.S. viewers. The list is very short — and getting shorter — and it’s almost all sports,” said Karp.

If there is any positive, Karp reports that when the leaderboard got close at about 6:15 p.m., viewership spiked to 11.9 million.
