Vincenza Papa Loses Futures National on 2nd Playoff Hole
Heartbreaker.
Pinecrest’s Vincenza Papa lost the Futures National at the Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship in a playoff to New Jersey’s Vidhi Lakhawala.
Entering the final round with a one shot lead, Papa posted a one-over par 73, while Lakhawala shot a 72 to tie the tournament.
In the second playoff hole, Lakhawala edged Papa to win the tournament.
Gianna Papa Finishes 23rd at Bell National
Over in the Bell National, Rhode Island Junior Amateur Champion Gianna Papa finished in a tie for 23rd.
Papa finished six over on the day and shot back-to-back 78s over the two day tournament.
