RI’s Colonna Finishes 10th at Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals

Barrington’s Anthony (AJ) Colonna finished in tenth place at the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National on Sunday morning.

This was Colonna’s first time making it to the National Finals in four attempts. Other players in the competition, and in his age group had been there before, some multiple times.

Button Hole will once again host the local qualifier for the 2022 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship, so Colonna will have a chance to get back to Augusta.

Colonna’s Run to Augusta

Colona started his run to Augusta by competing in the local qualifier at Button Hole Golf Course back in 2019.

There was no Drive, Chip & Putt Tournament in 2020 due to the coronavirus.

After Button Hole, he moved on toe Pinehills Golf Club in Massachusetts and then finally to TPC River Highlands in September of 2019.

Colonna finished first at Button Hole, first at Pinehills (making 2 of 3 putts) and first at TPC Riverhighlands, where he also made two of three putts.
