Vincenza Papa Makes 6 Birdies in Final Round, Wins Commonwealth Classic
Pinecrest Country Club’s Vincenza Papa poured in six birdies in the final round to win the Commonwealth Classic at Lake Monticello Golf Course in Virginia.
Papa fired an even par 72 in the final round to win by one shot over Canada’s Ann-Sophie Bourgault.
Papa finished four-over for the tournament.
Papa’s Final Round
Papa opened the final round by birding three of the first five holes to get to three-under par.
A bogey on the sixth set her back one, however, she made up for it immediately on the seventh with another birdie.
After a par on eight, Papa stumbled on the ninth hole, making a seven to finish the front nine at an even par 36.
After back-to-back pars on 10 and 11, Papa made a bogey at 12 and a birdie at 13.
Another bogey-birdie run at 15 and 17 helped her to finish even par for the day.
