In Last Ditch Effort to Make Masters, Fowler Commits to Valero Texas Open
In a last ditch effort to qualify for The Masters, Rickie Fowler has committed to the Valero Texas Open.
Fowler is currently just inside the cut line at the Honda Classic, but well back of the lead.
Assuming he doesn’t make an incredible run over the weekend, the Valero Texas Open will give him one more shot at winning and in turn, getting and invite to Augusta National.
The Valero Texas Open is the final stop on the PGA Tour before The Masters.
Fowler’s Struggles
As GolfNewsRI has documented, Fowler has struggled mightily for the last two years or so.
His last top ten came in January of 2020.
The stylish superstar is currently ranked 81st in the world and 1124th in the FedEx Cup.
The top 50 in the world make the Masters field.
Fowler has not missed a major since the 2010 Open Championship.
