Patrick Welch Named to Haskins Award Watch List
Providence native Patrick Welch has been named to the Haskins Award Watch List by Golfweek and Golf Channel writers.
The Haskins Award honors the player of the year in college men’s golf.

“Depending on the day, the junior might not be the best player on his top-ranked team, but he’s always in the mix. He won the stroke-play portion of the East Lake Cup against a strong field, finished T-4 at the Seminole and ninth at the Cabo,” writes Golfweek.
Along with high finishes at the Sooners last two tournaments, the Classical alum is also the fifth ranked player in the country.
Welch and the #1 Oklahoma Sooners next compete on March 15-16 at the George Hannon event at UT Golf Club.
Other Players on List
Other players who have made the Watch List include Liberty’s Kieran Vincent, Georgia’s Davis Thompson, Arizona State’s David Puig, Georgia’s Trent Phillips, Florida State’s John Pak and Vincent Norrman, Vanderbilt’s William Moll, Pepperdine’s Dylan Menante, South Carolina’s Ryan Hall, North Florida’s Nick Gabrelcik, Illinois’ Michael Feagles, Wake Forest’s Michael Brennan, Jacob Brdigeman of Clemson, and Texas Tech’s Ludvig Aberg.
