Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from next week’s Players Championship due to a knee injury, according to his manager.
“Brooks strained his right knee and he is scheduled to further consult with doctors this week to receive a more extensive evaluation and outlook. We will be able to provide additional updates and information as we learn more,” said Koepka’s manager Blake Smith in a statement.
Koepka last played at the Workday Championship at The concession where he finished in a tie for second.
He is an eight time Tour winner, and has won four major championships.
Koepka missed significant time last year due to a knee injury as well.
Players Field
The field now includes 48 of the top 50 in both the FedExCup standings and official World Golf Rankings.
Koepka will be replaced by Anirban Lahiri of India, unless a player not otherwise exempt wins the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
