New England Golf Rounds Up 20.7% in January

A little bit of snow across the New England region in the month of January certainly hindered play.
However, golf rounds were still up 20.7% in the month, according to new numbers from Golf Datatech.

As GolfNewsRI reported, golf rounds are up 101% during the month of December.
National Stage
Across the country, January rounds were up 21.4% according to Golf Datatech.
The biggest change was in the West North Central area of the country (on the map) were rounds were up 60%, and in the South Central area of the country at 44%.
“It’s important to note there can be greater inconsistency in comparing yearly results for a month like January, given that weather and seasonality have such a significant impact. January and December are typically the lowest volume months for play in any given year, each regularly accounting for less than 5% of annual rounds,” writes National Golf Foundation (NGF).
According to NGF, play at public facilities was up almost 19%, while rounds at private courses were up 29%.
