Andrade, Quigley Tied 28th After Round 1 of Cologuard Classic
Rhode Island’s Billy Andrade and Brett Quigley are battling it out at the Cologuard Classic on the Champions Tour this week.
After Friday’s round one, they are both tied for 28th at one-under par for the tournament.
Mike Weir leads the way at seven-under par, while Phil Mickelson is three-under.
Andrade’s Round
Going off the front nine, Andrade opened par, birdie, par through the first three holes, before giving one back at the par 3 fourth hole.
Andrade would bounce back quickly with a birdie on five to get back in red figures. He would make the turn at one under.
However, the opening holes of the back nine were not nice.
Andrade bogeyed them both to go to one-over par on the day, before getting one back on 12 with a birdie.
After saving par on 13 and 14, Andrade sunk a birdie putt on 15 to get back under par.
He would par in the rest of the way to shoot 72.
Quigley’s Round
Quigley started his day on the back nine and made birdie on the opening hole.
He would give one back on the 13th hole (his fourth hole) to drop back to even par.
Quigley would par 14 and 15 before back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 would get him to two under.
The second year Champions Tour player made bogey on 18 to make the turn at one under.
On the front side, Quigley dropped in a birdie putt on the par 5 second hole and bogeyed the sixth hole to shoot 72.
